Wedding Crasher

No sooner had Aunt Jane tied the knot than we packed up the Family Truckster for a trip to sunny Port Townsend. It was the site of our fourth wedding of the summer (and no funerals--take that, Hugh Grant).

By this time, Miles was quite accustomed to the wedding scene.

He made sure to arrive in style...

...then made the scene on the beach.

He made himself useful in the kitchen...

..and found a spot near the keg.

He picked out a hot new set of wheels...

...and by the end of the evening, he had a date.

Meanwhile, Daddy tried out his online ordination by presiding at Stephen and Michele's wedding.

Falls Positive

Before heading home to Seattle, we soaked up some mist from 268-ft. Snoqualmie Falls.

The Immaculate Reception

Aunt Eva shares a moment with Jonathan.

Lisa and Dean take a spin on the dance floor...

... as Miles checks out for the night.

A special Miles Files welcome to our loyal readers Jan and Merethe, who joined us all the from Norway!

Bubble trouble.

Dancing with the upstarts.

Kati enjoys her first glass of wine.

Uncle Laci and Uncle George shut it down.

Brave New World

Miles’ cousin Jonathan dazzled the wedding attendees with his daring solo trumpet rendition of Dvořák’s New World Symphony.

Bearing Falls Witness

In today's episode, our expanded clan ventures up to Snoqualmie Falls to witness the wedding of Miles' Aunt Jane and (now officially) Uncle Craig.

The bridesmaids are blushing.

Miles sports a sharp new set of overalls, as well as an impressive bruise from a recent head-bonk.

Kati with her cousins Miles and Jonathan.

Aunt Mary Lynn, Cousin Xannie and Uncle Jay yuk it up.

"One ring to bind them all....."

Grandma Ba-Ba-Ba guides the bride to the nuptial target.

Miles' attention begins to wander.

No, seriously, we paid online.

A kiss seals the deal.

Off to the races.

OK, now where's the party?

Yo No Soy Marinero

We took Miles for his first boat ride on Lake Washington.

Aside from some obligatory complaints about his life jacket, he took to the nautical life quickly.

Of course, he wasn't content until he took control of the ship.

Then it was off to the races.

Back at the shore, Miles put a few toes in the water.

By the end of the day he was a full-fledged Aquaboy!

Golden Gardens

Dean's sister Eva and her husband Laci have arrived from Hungary, to join their daughter Kati, as we prepare for our sister Jane's wedding later this week.

In this episode, we visit the beach at Golden Gardens Park in northwest Seattle.

Miles explores the beach with Aunt Eva...

...and watches for the surf with his cousin Kati.

Then we were off to the Ballard Locks, where the salmon were backed up on the fish ladder like I-5 during rush hour.

Finally, we took in the view of Puget Sound from Discovery Park.
