Sling Bled

If you've seen one picture of Slovenia, it's probably of Lake Bled, a photogenic little corner of the Julian Alps.

It was a fine setting for some alpine sliding.

The ride will long be remembered in Falvy lore.

The former dictator of the former Yugoslavia, Tito, liked the looks of Lake Bled enough to appropriate a nice villa for himself on its shores.

Guests were treated to a nice portrait of the man himself...

... not to mention a massive Socialist Realist mural of his exploits.

It may have been a coincidence, but quite a few of the local men of a certain age bore more than a passing resemblance to the former President-For-Life.
